dipity. press: Myths & Facts! Poetry Chapbook
sharing the release of chapbook no. 3 along with a few other announcements
Hi! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I just wanted to quickly say congrats to Beth Bayley again on her latest poetry chapbook release Myths & Facts! It’s our third chapbook in the Dipity Press series, and there’s stellar artwork inside! You can purchase the saddle-stitched versions via the U.S.-based print store link or through the Great British Bookshop for international shipping on our website here, along with a few more ordering options. Ebooks are going to be typically completed a few months after release—I am probably going to set up digital versions outside of Amazon Kindle soon. Remember, you can give an additional direct donation to poets under the Chappies section of the site. Our 4th chapbook, Urban Enigmas by Patrick ten Brink, is nearing completion too, plus our micro-chapbook series will launch in the summer too.
NEW PODCAST EPISODE AHEAD
You can listen to Beth Bayley read from her chapbook tomorrow, May 11th, in episode no. 139 at 8AM PST of the Hummingbird Blink: Nectar Poetry Podcast. Video episodes are available to watch on Spotify and YouTube, audio is on Apple. Our new audio-only Spotify + Apple podcast, solely on Dipity Lit Mag publications, will be launching soon after our submission management system switch. Hummingbird Blink again will be the home of solely bite-sized video episodes and publication shares.
MOVING TO SUBFOLIO
I have decided to move our reading team to Subfolio to intake submissions—if you want to learn more about why, I’ll be doing a Lit Mag Lab podcast (audio diary episode no. 15) sometime before the end of this month on it, and sharing my thoughts on submission management systems for magazines and presses in general. We are hoping to be off of Submittable ASAP or within the next 30-60 days, therefore, any remaining acceptances with tasks left, predominantly just chapbooks, will be tackled via e-mail communication. We are going through quite a few submissions from the last window still, but should be over there very soon this year, hopefully between June and July.
OUR NEW DIRECTION
You can see a sneak peek of it under the “Print” section of the website. I’ll be changing our look, style, etc., print providers & distribution a bit, just over Dipity Lit Mag TBA. I am not going to specify what the calls are quite yet until we’re situated much later in the year on Subfolio, but essentially it’ll be structured in a way to highlight musicians and artists much further across the series, still with poetry and short stories, fun illustrations, etc. incorporated.
ONLINE TANK REMINDER
Be sure to check out the “Online Tank” section on our site, which is separate from this mailing list, to read more awesome poems and short stories! Remember formatting changes in the mobile view. You can subscribe to just this section via Dipity Lit Mag > Home Typewriter page—there’s a box for signing up beneath it.
I am considering turning some of the digital collages into mini prints or stickers too—recently cleared out the gift shop of older items and just left up our dipity. beanie hats, so some new merch items will be up in the near future!
MAY 2025 LISTENS
A majority of these are on Spotify, SoundCloud, and elsewhere. We have two releases that went out recently on our spoken word channel, “Wounds that ooze” by Sylvia Marie and “ Prodigal Sun” by B.D. Morrow. The others are song recommendations—will do eight recs or more every other month, as much as possible. Check them out below, follow, and add these to your playlists to support (the artist pages are linked below).
Nothingmore — After
Adding Up — Hunter Powell
I.W.U.B — LEEAAV
I Care (ft. Nevi) — Jack Pavlina
Soap — fkblnde
Seashore — Saint Gardenia
Lala Land — Boy Okay
Prodigal Sun (ft. B.D. Morrow) — dipity. productions
VOLUNTEER OPENINGS
We will be adding at least 1-2 more readers or roles to our volunteer staff in the upcoming months. Most likely, I’ll create a bucket in Subfolio for applications. Of course, you can always reach out if you’re interested in joining the reading team or the process for applications—our contact form inbox located on the Staff page at the very bottom of the site is always open.
That’s all for now! Take care. - Jazz Marie (VFORROW)
