Below you’ll find my selections for 2026 Best of the Net. You can find past nominations on our website under the main menu: More > Nominations. If you’re not familiar with this event we can choose up to six poems, and two short stories, and there are other categories. “The poem, story, or essay must have been first published or appeared on the web between July 1st, 2024, and June 30th, 2025,” for the event, and its ok if it appeared in print after its online appearance. As always, wish I could select more.
Although it’s 2025, the nomination event decisions are always announced for the following year so the 2026 nominations are below:
2026 dipity. POETRY NOMINATIONS for BEST of the NET
2026 dipity. SHORT FICTION PIECES for BEST of the NET
8 OPEN CALLS
I reopened Dipity Lit Mag back up yesterday; feel free to check out the eight calls on Subfolio here, too, or via our site’s home menu page under > Submit Work. I won’t list them all here again, but please read the guidelines carefully before submitting your work. We have also reopened our poetry feedback bucket. I used to just do those requests, but you can now choose between team feedback or direct feedback from me on up to three poems. Chapbook manuscript feedback is not open at this time.
We’ll eventually have about three more calls later on for our print issue series relaunch, which includes an advertising section, featured photography, and another TBA; this could entail an article topic prompt or flash fiction section—use Notify Me (the bell button) to be aware of those.
Again, new dipity.press mid-length chapbook and micro-chapbook calls will be paused until we get our remaining chapbooks out, which are scheduled for release this year. Additionally, in the distant future, we will have more poets in the community and guest contributors involved in our Substack.
OTHER UPDATES
We’ll be adding more volunteers, so if you’d like to help out or join the reading team, totally apply through Subfolio to see the openings.
And, I don’t typically share personal details a ton on here besides my other two pen name podcast series, but if you listened, some of you are aware that my dad was diagnosed with cancer last December—that’s what I meant by tough fam events too, more appointments throughout this year, etc.
However, Dipity Lit Mag will remain open with some breaks on my end, so please do check out the calls when you get a chance. I look forward to putting together the relaunch of Dipity Lit Mag issue no. 1 and our upcoming dipity.press releases: Urban Enigmas by Patrick ten Brink, Making Home Out of an Elegy by Alexis Barton, and another TBA. We’ll do cover reveals as soon as the illustrations are done. I have sent check-in messages to the artists we’re collaborating with on the series for covers—they do have quite a few other projects on their plates alongside ours, but it’ll be ASAP. We’ll be finalizing Urban Enigmas interior this July, so we’ll share that soon with everyone and do a podcast episode on it with Patrick and other authors in future releases.
UPCOMING EPISODES
Speaking of podcast episodes, just a reminder again that we’re looking for more poets to share recent poetry collection releases—it’s free to submit to it. We have an upcoming awesome video episode on July 12th at 8am PST with Fin Rose Aborizk @dreamsinhiding.writing on Instagram, author of In This Macrocosm There Is A Rose, so if you’re looking for an example to follow that’s a good one to reference along with no. 138 with Dee Allen’s DISCOVERY poetry collection. Episodes can be viewed on Spotify + YouTube, audio-only versions are on Apple. I still haven’t gotten around to uploading our other past spoken word publications to YouTube, but I will do so as soon as I can. If you have had work accepted by Dipity Lit Mag in the past, you’re welcome to partake in the new dipity.poetry audio series. The full guidelines can be found under the Hummingbird Blink: Nectar Poetry podcast video call in Subfolio, alongside the new separate dipity.poetry audio bucket.
Stay tuned for more interviews and events ahead! Take care ~ Jazz Marie
