A new slightly more traditional and full-color satin + gloss version of Dipity Lit Mag has been created that can be ordered directly from just our website only from another U.S.-based printer. Issues 2-4 will be available soon like this too. We’ll probably be able to discount some back issues further now.
However, they currently don’t ship internationally quite yet for this new version which is why we still push paperback versions to Amazon and other online bookstores and I occasionally do see global orders of those. The good news is they plan on offering international shipping soonish—I believe it’s on the roadmap so if you’re not located in the U.S. eventually you should be able to order this format one day.
I spent most of the past week resizing all pages from issues 1-4 for the new margins and added spine text dimensions for each one. The issues in online bookstores don’t have spine text because it is a tad trickier through the other print provider at the moment. It’s not the end of the world to not have spine text on those online bookstore ones, but I personally prefer spine text and satin which is why this new version was created and to trim the cost down a tad further, especially for U.S.-based orders. While it takes more work to create and format two versions each time, it’s better to offer it in more places and it’s always a good idea to have backup print services in place.
The softcover and hardcover editions in online bookstores often sadly have hefty additional distribution fees attached and we weren’t able to stick consistently to economy paper for the issues like before so it’s not ideal for most to purchase through the Ingram network besides shops etc.
We will still offer the magazine issues online to read for FREE too until we determine if we must make changes to that setup—depending upon which mobile app reader we onboard with one day.
These new satin versions don’t have barcodes on the back quite yet is which is all right. If our ISSN series application is approved this year I’ll definitely go back and add those to the back cover on these. So if you’re interested in ordering magazine issues with spine text those instructions will be under our website and the rest with details should be up and active shortly within the next few weeks. The direct buy links will state “USA Store.” I hope this new ordering option from our website helps.
Sometime this year, I’ll try to post more side-by-side print video previews of your chapbooks and this new variation of Dipity Lit Mag out on our YouTube channel.
P.S. We’re currently seeing awesome chapbook submissions and issue no. 5 subs, please note it is incredibly difficult to decline any. We look forward to reviewing more submissions!
