dipity - Check Deadlines & New Open Calls
reminders regarding poetry, spoken word, chapbook, musician open calls
As you know we all love the existence of music! Musicians and bands can now submit to this Substack too as part of our “Music Waves” series (name subject to change). If you were mentioned or featured in past issues of Dipity or elsewhere you’re absolutely welcome to answer the new Q&A questions to share about your work a bit further, and let us know about current or upcoming song releases. See details through our Submit Work/Submittable page!
We are looking for way more spoken word audio submissions for the Hummingbird Blink: Nectar Poetry podcast and we have a few more audio submission opportunities. Please note we do allow previously published poetry on just the podcast. I have decided to sadly discontinue the Moon Milk podcast and centralize all voices on one podcast: Hummingbird Blink. Give it a follow if you haven’t listened to S3 EP1 or no. 131 yet!
Chapbook window no. 1 for Dipity Press will be closing quite soon and we’ll send out one or more acceptance letters for those poets to review and sign in upcoming months as I narrow the ones down from our Poetry Reading team received thus far.
We are in search of artists in the community who would be interested in donating artwork or creating covers for upcoming poetry chapbook releases. Use our contact form on our website to e-mail or express interest in helping out with covers. Otherwise, I’ll probably design the covers until then.
The Symphonic Challenge is still open (this is the only challenge where we award one poet $50). You must choose one of the featured artist’s songs.
We’ll be accepting poetry book review submissions down the road soonish! Meaning you can review a friend’s poetry book or a recent read instead of another poet’s work. I am currently on break from reading and reviewing poetry manuscripts in our e-mail inbox.
We (I am on a social media post break) to focus on some personal projects and items, but we will definitely leverage Substack. You can DM on Substack but it’ll be a while before I get back to anyone. It is best to email through the Dipity Lit Mag > Staff > Contact Form at the bottom for any questions. Due to limited volunteer staff availability and restructuring due to life events, we’ll be slower to review online submissions sometimes, and response times will vary.
Remember you can read digitally issues 1-4 of Dipity Lit Mag for free now on your computer through our website’s READ tab!
If you’re interested or expressed interest in volunteering for Dipity Lit Mag or Dipity Press via our contact form, please be advised it may be a while before we open back up volunteer apps until Dipity Press launches its first chapbook(s). We should have 2-3 openings, but will remind those interested when it re-opens sometime this year.
Deadlines are subject to change and can be found on our Submittable (Submit Work) page as you scroll down past the guideline reminders to expand each bucket. Our spoken word and Q&As are typically always open for submissions!
We have yet to announce issue no. 5’s theme, but will be sometime after chapbooks.
Thanks so much for your support! Jazz Marie Kaur (Vevna Forrow)

If you enjoy reading our Substack or would like to support Dipity Literary Magazine and Dipity Press further, you can pledge to it, restack this, or donate $1 or any amount directly to our Give Butter campaign at the very bottom of our website. Donations go towards operational expenses and future community publications. We appreciate anyone who does so, comments, or shares! Thanks for taking the time to read this. Have awesome days ahead!
